I have a recording capturing system sound only and it seems to be too high. Plan to try out your tip to see if that fixes things or if I'll need to re-record and lower the system sound level.

    Hey, Gord, you didn’t show us how to create multi-line bullets with a hanging indent!

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman 6 місяців тому

      Thanks for reaching out, Tony. I would create a library asset that has multiple lines in it - do by grouping them, or being sure you select them all together, before adding to the library (using "visible" size). I would have the first line - a normal bullet line, and then the next two (or however many you want) indented - done by manually placing them indented. Then when you use this asset, you'll always have a consistent indentation distance to work with. Then, for additional lines you need, just duplicate on the timeline and line up. Yes, this is a manually intensive solution, and there's no "hanging" indent feature by definition, so you'd control that on your own. I hope that's helpful. Let me know how it works out for you.

    Do you have a video that shows how to split the screen into talking head on one side with the bullet points on the others side i.e. talking head on left with the bullet points dropping in on the right?

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman 9 місяців тому

      Sorry, I don't have a tutorial on that, but here's an example clip result where I do what you are asking about: ua-cam.com/video/U7te9a6r8dQ/v-deo.html . Note that you can do this by making a panel out of a shape, and then use the Custom Animation to slide the panel on/off screen. At the same time that you bring the panel on/off screen, you can slide the person clip part over (parallel to "on"/back (parallel to "off"). The shape (rectangle that you create) annotation will be on one track, and the person media clip on the track below. Make sure that Custom animation lengths are consistent in timing and duration for both elements - panel, and media clip of the person. I know this may sound abstract, but this is the best I can do considering that I don't have an example to show you. I hope that helped a little.

      Hi Shaun. This was one of my favorite videos to make... I use Markers all the time. This video doesn't really get old when you consider the utility of Markers. I too would love Speed ramps!!! I sometimes take a clip and cut it into pieces and put different levels of Clip Speed on each to try and simulate speed ramping, but its a far cry from having a proper, key-frame based speed ramping feature. Lets hope we get to see that in the next major release!

But when I m applying the behavior to the timelines (it go with the whole screen not the text) Kindly tell me how can I animate the text which is already there in ppt slides.

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman Рік тому

      @@MKupadhyay0728, thanks for the additional information. Sorry for the additional questions. When you are saying "applying the behavior", are you referring to trying to edit the text, or actually applying a Camtasia Behavior? Regardless, to edit the text in a Callout that has text, try to click or double-click on the annotation on the Canvas and then update the text. If you're having trouble getting context and accessing the text, try to "hide" other tracks that have elements around the annotation you want to edit, so as to help you isolate where you want to change. Then, after you update the text, "unhide" the track(s) that you hid. I hope that helps.

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman Рік тому

      Yes, apply the effect to the track - your all-voice track - and it should work no matter how many voices are on the track. Think that the effect works on the "track", not just "one voice". So, for an example, if you have an interview on that track with two voices, it should work fine.

    Gord, great video, how did distribute your bulleted text evenely vertically, since you have to separate your text into separate elements to get them to reveal independently

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman Рік тому

      Hi Chad. As you can see in the video, I group the line with the bullet point elements, and then I can move that unit around. This keeps my horizontal spacing between the bullet and the text line accurate. If I want to be sure alignment is good vertically, I "copy" and "paste" to make a duplicate, and then I like to use my arrow keys on my keyboard to just slide down the copied line and then settle it where I want. Unfortunately, it's not easy to judge the vertical spacing - I just eyeball that the best I can. It would be great if the grid/guide info showed us the vertical distance between lines, but it doesn't. I hope that helps. Also, consider the suggestion I made in the video, after 13 minutes where I suggest to make a library asset so that when you reuse this, you don't need to rework the alignment.

      Hi Pamela, If you are referring to the "Easing" at 3 min and 35s of the video, you need to click on the arrow (animation keyframe arrow) and then click your right-mouse-button and see the Enable Easting pop-up menu appear, and then navigate to the next sub-level of that menu and you'll see the "Linear" selection to click on/select. I hope that helps. I always click on the tip of the arrowhead, and it turns the animation keyframe arrow yellow and the tip should turn red too... but you just need to have the arrow selected and it will turn yellow. Be sure that when you click with the right-mouse-button that you are over the arrow - have it in context.

      Yes, Firebrand VOCALS, this is the challenge with software like Camtasia that sells itself as an "easy" to use video editor. The more features that are add, the more sophisticated the product gets, and the product identity starts to change/evolve - can be confusing. This was really helpful. I've been wondering what gain is. And I can't believe you can zoom into an audio track. OMG! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent hours recording videos today only to find out that my lapel mic wasn't picking up the audio. Lesson learned to triple check. In the meantime, is there any way to save the videos? Can I add both volume and gain, save the video, then import the saved video to Camtasia to add more volume again? Please help!!!

      Hi Natalie, Volume and Gain are used to get the same net result -> to increase your volume. In the video I talk about clipping - something you need to be careful of so that the sound doesn't get distorted due to you raising the volume too high. You shouldn't have to Save your project and go in again, just to raise the volume... but you can do it if you wish. (see below - use the Audio Meter to help you assess levels). I would think you'd be into clipping/distortion rather quickly if you did that. The Gain and Volume controls are separate and you can't relate the numbers well to each other because using one doesn't affect the values in the other. You can also use the Volume Levelling (now called Volume Compression) to balance the overall volume through compression (again, explained in the video). After you apply the Volume Compression, then adjust the Volume Level bar to where you want the overall volume to be. Please note, there's another feature to help you and that's also newer than this video - the Audio Meter. When you are playing the video/audio on the timeline, on the right hand side, above the timeline you'll see two horizontal bars moving with the audio as its playing. Click on that and you'll see an audio meter pop up - from here you can also see how high your volume is peaking with a db meter. You can play with your Volume Level adjusting and see how it looks when you see it on the Audio Meter. If you aren't clipping (encroaching on 0 or above, then you are in good shape! I hope that helps! Oh, and for saving the video - if you mean exporting it to generate a .mp4 output, then use the Export -> Local File menu choice to render the file for playback. If you mean to Save the Project, use the File -> Save (or Save As) to save the Camtasia Project file (.tscproj file). I hope that all helps.

      Thank you so much for your reply. When I raise the volume with the volume bar, it's still too low. I was wondering if I could raise the volume using the volume bar, export as an MP4 and then raise the volume using the volume bar on the new video. Not sure if that makes sense this time, but when I raise the volume all the way up with the volume bar, the audio is still too low and no where near clipping. I also use the volume leveler and the noise removal thanks to your other videos :)

      If your finished your video editing part, you can Export the audio, and thn bring the track in again, and replace the existing audio, and then apply Gain again to keep boosting. However, you'll also be amplifying the noise... so, that may introduce another issue. May I ask how the recorded volume was so low? Is it something you have the ability to record again, at a higher recorded volume? Note, if the video and audio are combined in the track(I.e. a video, with audio track to start with) you'll need to "separate the audio" to replace it with the newly imported version that you adjust again.

      @@GordIsman My mic somehow wasn't picking up the sound. My best guess is I didn't push the mic wire into the camera all the way. I know everything was charged. I could see the receiver was receiving info from the mic. I just foolishly didn't check that the camera was picking up the mic audio since I've never had an issue before. And, unfortunately, I can't record again. I am heartbroken. I am trying your idea of exporting audio only and boosting again. It does seem to be amplifying the noise, and I worry that my voice will be distorted if I have to keep using noise removal :( In any case, I cannot thank you enough for all your help and for your fantastic videos!!

      @@GordIsman I'm sorry. One more question: Should I do gain then noise removal then export audio only then gain again then noise removal again etc? Or should I do gain then export audio only then gain again until I have the right volume AND THEN do noise removal? Basically, where should I do noise removal in the process of increasing volume?
